The following terms and conditions govern business contracted with the Grounded Theory Conference: Grounded Theory Futures organised by Grounded Solutions Ltd./Grounded Theory Online.

Instructions on Cancellation

You may cancel your contract to attend the conference “Grounded Theory Futures”, within 14 days of making it without giving any reasons.

The cancellation period will expire at the end of 14 days after the day of the contract’s conclusion.

To cancel the contract within this 14 day cancellation period, you must inform the conference organisers of your decision to cancel by sending a clear statement by email to helen.scott@groundedtheoryconference.com
You may use the attached cancellation form but it is not obligatory.
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your cancellation email before the end of the cancellation period.

Effects of Cancellation During the Cancellation Period

If you cancel this contract within the cancellation period and you have paid your invoice, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you less 20% in recognition of our costs in relation to your booking. We will make the reimbursement without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we were informed about your decision to cancel the contract. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for initial payment unless you expressly agree otherwise.

If you booked within 14 days of the start of the conference the section on  ‘Non-attendance’ above, shall apply.

Effects of Cancellation After the Cancellation Period

If you request to cancel the contract after your 14 day cancellation period has expired:

  • if the conference is still more than 90 days away on the day we receive your cancellation request, and if you have paid your invoice in full, a refund will be given of the whole fee minus a deduction of 20% to cover our costs and time incurred until then
  • if the conference is 90 days or fewer away on the day we receive your cancellation request, if you have paid your invoice, no refund of the conference fee will be given but we may be able to offer online mentoring in lieu of reimbursement. If you have not paid your invoice, you will still need to pay but we may be able to offer online mentoring in lieu.

Non-attendance

In the event of your non-attendance and that we exercise our right, your booking will be deemed cancelled and if payment has been made no refund will be given. If payment has not been made, you will still need to pay your invoice. In exceptional circumstances we may be able to offer online mentoring in lieu.

Postponement by the Grounded Theory Conference organiser, Grounded Solutions Ltd./Grounded Theory Online

If we have to postpone or cancel the conference for reasons outside of our reasonable control, no refund of your fee will be given. If we have to postpone or cancel the conference for reasons within our control, and if you have paid your invoice in full, you may request a refund of the conference fee less 20%. All liability by us will be limited to the value of the original conference fee and no other expenses incurred by any other means.
