Dr Zaidi will contribute to the discussion ‘The Future of Grounded Theory: a response to Professor Barry Gibson’.
Dr Zaidi works at the intersections of language and society. Pakistan, being an ex-colony of the British Empire, offers much to a sociolinguist who is interested in theorizing the tension between the usage of the English language and the local languages. Dr Zaidi prefers using the grounded theory research method in her studies as it offers her an opportunity to understand research sites that have been under-theorized.
