Dr Anne-Marie Martin is a Lecturer in Nursing (Intellectual Disability) in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University College Cork, Ireland. She teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate modules as well as supervising MSc and PhD studies. Anne-Marie’s research interests lie in interpersonal communication and interaction skills, particularly with people with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities. In 2020 she defended her PhD titled Reconciling communication repertoires: a classic grounded theory of navigating interactions involving persons with severe/profound intellectual disability. More recently, Anne-Marie has advised on grounded theory research being undertaken in Denmark while also collaborating on international projects with grounded theory researchers around using and applying the method.
